DesignGear 8 creates a unique symbol database for each new project. You may edit any symbol database without affecting symbols for your other projects.

Each time you use a new symbol, DesignGear stores your project symbols and builds a legend based on each project's symbols.



DesignGear 8 maintains a Lighting Fixture Database for each new project. This database is defined by the Configuration selected when the project is created. Lighting Manager allows you to edit each Lighting Fixture Database independently. You may also edit the Master Databases which will affect all new projects. This database is the basis for your automated Lighting Fixture Schedule information. The database and output schedule are compatible with ASHRAE 90 requirements.



DesignGear 8's AutoCircuit tool provides a fully automated link between drawing load information and your power schedules. In addition to automated load calculation functions, AutoCircuit provides the option of fully automated overcurrent device and wire/conduit sizing for all branch circuits.




All power devices such as Panelboards, Motor Control Centers, Switchboards, etc. must be created using Power Manager. These DesignGear 8 devices then become the basis for all of your automated power calculations and schedules.
